Athletic Marist stretched its lead in Citizens shield rugby to nine points when it beat Valley. 52-9. Maheno registered its second win of the season with a 22-9 win over Excelsior while Kurow moved into third equal place with Valley and Maheno with a 59-5 win over Athletic Marist Colts.

Old Boys retained its lead in Citizens shield rugby on Saturday with a 75-18 win over Maheno. Athletic Marist raced away in the second half to beat the Athletic Marist Colts,82-3 while Kurow registered its first win of the season with a hard fought 17-10 win over Excelsior.

Old Boys went to the top of the Citizens Shield ladder with a 29-7 win over Kurow in Kurow on Saturday. Athletic failed to earn a four try bonus in its 19-9 win over Excelsior in Oamaru while at the Maheno Domain, Valley recorded its first win of the season with a 67-0 drubbing of Maheno.
