Old Boys retained its lead in Citizens shield rugby on Saturday with a 75-18 win over Maheno. Athletic Marist raced away in the second half to beat the Athletic Marist Colts,82-3 while Kurow registered its first win of the season with a hard fought 17-10 win over Excelsior.

Old Boys went to the top of the Citizens Shield ladder with a 29-7 win over Kurow in Kurow on Saturday. Athletic failed to earn a four try bonus in its 19-9 win over Excelsior in Oamaru while at the Maheno Domain, Valley recorded its first win of the season with a 67-0 drubbing of Maheno.
